Abstract
This paper represents a methodology for the design of multi-beam electron gun for Ku-band amplifier. Operating frequency for amplifier is 10.9 to 11.7 GHz. As multi-beam electron gun has number of advantages over conventional microwave tubes such as high power, high efficiency, large bandwidth, low noise and low operating voltage. All electron guns have individual anode as well as cathode and common focusing system. The operating voltage of electron gun is 6 kV with total beam current of 420 (105x4) mA which is equally divided among all beamlets.
